Eastleigh Villages Directory

Bishopstoke is a lovely village first mentioned in the Doomsday book and is situated approximately one mile from the busy town of Eastleigh. It is split between Old and New Bishopstoke and is on the eastern bank of the River Itchen. Bordering the village is Stoke Park woods which is mainly woodland surround by a few privately owned farms. Bishopstoke still retains buildings dating from the 18th century.

Bishopstoke has both an infant school and junior school which feed into Wyvern Technology College in Fair Oak with its quaint village centre and Horton Heath just up the road which borders onto some of the most beautiful countryside in Hampshire. All these areas have vibrant and close knit communities, with their own theatre companies, art and craft groups, football teams and much more. Housing is a mixture of mainly private with a small selection of social housing. The area is quite affluent in a lot of respects and has a high number of professional and self-employed people living in there. This area is served by a selection of local shops and businesses that make it independent in its own right.
